Buying From Us:

Many people have said “but I just want a pet, I don’t care about all those titles and activities”. We expect that your dog will be an integral part of your family for its lifetime. A dog with a bad temperament is difficult to live with, to say the least. One with health problems can be emotionally and financially devastating. Whether you participate in performance activites or simply want a good family pet, you owe it to yourself to buy from a reputable breeder who puts a great deal of thought and care into their breeding program. A breeder who cares about every puppy they produce for its entire life.

Our goal and commitment at Lienroc is to produce a dog that can achieve success in the show ring, the field or at any other activity suited to this wonderful breed, including being a beloved family pet. To that end, temperament, health and trainability are key.

We produce a small number of litters, one every 18 months to two years. Each breeding is carefully planned and researched to make the best possible match. We research pedigrees and make our selection of stud dog based on who we feel will help us achieve our goals and not based on who has the most titles and ribbons. Before being bred, our dogs must be OFA certified for hips, elbows and thyroid and pass a CERF exam showing they are free of any hereditary eye problems.

Puppies are raised and socialized in our home with other dogs, cats and wherever possible, children. We make every effort to get them outside and used to outdoor surroundings, including exposure to birds and water.

Puppies leave our home between 8 and 10 weeks old, and come with a 3 year written health guarantee, registration papers, a copy of their pedigree, copies of dam and sire’s health clearances, a puppy package of information on training and life with a V puppy, a bag of starter puppy food, a blanket with familiar smells as well a favourite toy.

All of our puppies are CKC registered and are sold on a non-breeding contract basis to approved homes only. We also include a "return" clause in our contract, which means, should the buyer ever be unable to keep the dog for any reason, at any age, we will take the dog back. This helps to ensure that our dogs will never end up in a shelter or rescue situation.

We take the placing of our puppies very seriously and in matching each puppy to the right home. To be considered for a Lienroc puppy, all prospective puppy buyers must complete our puppy buyer questionnaire and return it to us. The questionnaire will give us a sense of you, your family and your lifestyle so that we may select the puppy from the litter that is the best match for you. Please note that sending the questionnaire will not put you on our waiting list by itself. You must be sure to follow up on your questionnaire with an email message or phone call to arrange a time to meet with us in person before you are approved and added to our waiting list. If you are approved for one of our puppies you will be required to make a non-refundable deposit.

As we are deeply committed to the lives of the puppies we produce, it is our expectation that we will remain in contact from time to time with our puppy buyers throughout the dog’s lifetime. This not only brings us great joy, but also helps us stay abreast of how the pup is developing so that we can better evaluate our breeding program’s successes and areas for improvement.

Thank you for you interest in us and our dogs. We are happy to discuss in greater detail our expectations and your needs. Since our breeding program is small, we highly recommend that you begin speaking with us well in advance of your needs to avoid disappointment. Waiting lists for puppies fill quickly, often before the breeding occurs. To request a copy of our questionnaire or to arrange a visit please contact us.
